Sunday School Last Bell on the Feast of Pentecost

Sunday, May 31, 2026On this radiant Sunday, the great Feast of Pentecost — the day of the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and the birthday of Christ’s Church — St. Volodymyr Cathedral in Toronto was filled with a very special joy. We gathered as one parish family to celebrate the Last Bell of our Sunday School, giving thanks to God for another blessed year lived in prayer, friendship, and growth in faith.
The day began with what matters most — the Divine Liturgy, Confession, and Holy Communion. Adorned with greenery and flowers, the Cathedral resembled the Upper Room where the Apostles received the gift of the Holy Spirit. After the Liturgy, families moved to the Cathedral hall for a festive program led by our Sunday School teachers — Mrs. Oksana, Mrs. Viktoria, and Mrs. Ninel — together with the spiritual director of our school, Father Vasyl Kobriy.
Especially touching were the slideshow of photos from the past year and the gift presentation. All the children came up on stage, including those who are not yet officially enrolled, because at our Cathedral, every child belongs. Following our good tradition, the celebration continued with a group photo on the Cathedral steps under the centennial banner “Celebrating the Past — Building our Future” — words that carry a special meaning in this jubilee year (1926–2026).
The day closed with a true children’s celebration in the Cathedral hall: a giant bubble show, a Cotton Candy Cart, a photo zone, desserts, and joyful fellowship. Our heartfelt thanks go to Father Vasyl for his spiritual care, to our teachers for their devoted work, to our parents for their trust and love, and to our children for being the true joy of St. Volodymyr Cathedral.
Registration for 2026–2027 is now open. This year we have two separate programs: Sunday School for children and the newly launched Youth Catechesis for ages 13–19, beginning September 13, 2026. Останній дзвоник Недільної школи у день П’ятидесятниці
Катедра святого Володимира у Торонто
Неділя, 31 травня 2026 рокуЦього сонячного дня, у велике свято П’ятидесятниці — день зішестя Святого Духа на апостолів і день народження Христової Церкви — катедра святого Володимира у Торонто наповнилася особливою радістю. Ми разом святкували Останній дзвоник нашої Недільної школи, дякуючи Богові за ще один благословенний навчальний рік, прожитий у молитві, дружбі та зростанні у вірі.
День розпочався найголовнішим — Божественною Святою Літургією, Сповіддю та Святим Причастям. Прикрашена зеленню і квітами катедра нагадувала Сіонську світлицю, у якій апостоли отримали дар Святого Духа. Після Літургії родини перейшли до катедрального залу на святкову програму, яку провели вчителі Недільної школи — пані Оксана, пані Вікторія та пані Нінель, разом із духовним наставником школи отцем Василем Кобрієм.
Особливо зворушливими були перегляд слайдів із фотографіями навчального року та вручення подарунків. На сцену вийшли всі діти — навіть ті, які ще не є офіційними учнями школи, бо у нашій катедрі кожна дитина рідна. За доброю традицією свято продовжилося спільною світлиною на сходах катедри під банером “Celebrating the Past — Building our Future”, що у ювілейному, сторічному році парафії (1926–2026) звучить особливо символічно.
Завершилося свято справжнім дитячим празником у катедральній залі: шоу з велетенськими мильними бульбашками, Cotton Candy Cart, фотозона, десерти та святкове спілкування. Щиро дякуємо отцю Василю за духовну опіку, нашим вчителям — за віддану працю, батькам — за довіру і любов, а дітям — за те, що ви є справжньою радістю катедри святого Володимира.
Реєстрація на 2026–2027 уже відкрита. Цьогоріч у нас дві окремі програми: Недільна школа для дітей та новостворена Катехизація Молоді (вік 13–19), яка стартує 13 вересня 2026 року. Деталі та запрошення — в окремому оголошенні “Приєднуйтесь до Недільної школи і Катехизації Молоді 2026–2027”.
