“Send a child to camp 2026” Project Has Come to a Close!
Last Sunday marked the end of camp for our senior group of parish youth, ages 13–16, bringing the final week of Sokil 2026 to a joyful conclusion.
With that, we officially celebrate the completion of what has truly been one of the most important projects of our Centennial Year.
“Celebrating the Past – Building our Future” has been the guiding theme of our parish's 100th anniversary celebrations throughout 2026. Through a series of meaningful events, initiatives, community gatherings, and thoughtful projects, we have been celebrating this remarkable milestone together.
The Sokil project was the result of more than six months of planning, preparation, and dedicated work. Thanks to the outstanding commitment and professionalism of the entire Sokil team, parishioners, and clergy of our parish, this vision became a reality. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Pani Emilia Stelmach, whose care, generosity, and steadfast support accompanied every stage of the project—from the earliest planning meetings to the closing camp ceremony.
One of the most extraordinary acts of generosity came from the camp administration, who gifted every child from our parish attending Sokil this year with an additional week at camp. As a result, children in each age group had the opportunity to spend a full two weeks at camp, instead of the one week that had originally been planned and sponsored by the parish. Our clergy, parish community, parents, and especially our children are deeply grateful for this incredible opportunity.
With the generous support of our parish, donors, and benefactors, 29 children and youth from our community, ranging in age from 6 to 16, were able to spend time at Sokil, enjoying the beauty of God's creation along the shores of Lake Simcoe—its warm, clear waters, majestic forests, and the peaceful surroundings of the camp.
A special wholehearted thank you belongs to the profound sponsor of this children's retreat: the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada Foundation (UOCCF), which supports our projects year after year in the most meaningful way, truly living up to its name as a foundation of faith.
This initiative will continue to grow in the years ahead, building on the strong foundation established this year and creating even more opportunities for the young people of our parish.
The largest Centennial Year project dedicated to the children of our parish has now come to a successful conclusion.

Минулої неділі таборовий тиждень завершився для старшої вікової групи дітей парафії віком 13–16 років. Цим ми підбиваємо підсумки та вважаємо цей по-справжньому важливий проєкт завершеним.
“Святкуємо минуле — будуємо майбутнє” — під цим гаслом ми низкою подій, ініціатив та продуманих проєктів святкуємо наш сторічний ювілей парафії впродовж 2026 року.
Цей проєкт став можливим завдяки спільним зусиллям команди табору Sokil, вірних та духовенства нашої парафії. Окрема щиросердна подяка пані Емілії Стельмах, директорці табору, яка чуйно допомагала на кожному кроці — від ідеї до прощальної церемонії закриття таборового відпочинку.
Виявом непересічної щедрості стало те, що адміністрація табору подарувала кожній дитині парафії, яка була відправлена цього року в Sokil, додатковий тиждень у таборі. У підсумку, діти кожної вікової групи мали змогу провести цілих два тижні замість запланованого і проспонсорованого парафією одного тижня. Вся парафіяльна громада, а особливо батьки дітей та дітлахи, надзвичайно вдячні за таку чудову можливість!
За цей час проєкт отримав підтримку від церкви, донорів у вигляді донатів та пожертв. Окрема уклінна подяка спонсорам дитячого відпочинку: Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada Foundation (UOCCF), яка послідовно з року в рік підтримує наші проєкти. Завдяки цій підтримці 29 дітей парафії віком від 6 до 16 років мали змогу відпочити серед природи на березі озера Сімко: насолодитися чистою та теплою водою, густим пралісом та затишними галявинами грандіозної території табору “Сокіл”.
Ця ініціатива буде продовжуватися і надалі та матиме свій розвиток та вдосконалення в прийдешні роки.
Найбільший проєкт року сторіччя, присвячений дітям парафіян, завершено. Дякуємо, рідні наші діти, що берете активну участь у всіх заходах та ініціативах нашої церкви. Ви є її майбутнім.
