Road Closures June 14, 2026 • Перекриття доріг у неділю

On Sunday, June 14, 2026, Toronto will experience major road closures due to the Taste of Little Italy festival, ongoing FIFA World Cup transit restrictions, and local construction. Drivers should expect severe gridlock in the downtown core.

1. Festival & Event Closures

  • Taste of Little Italy: College Street (from Bathurst Street to Shaw Street) will be fully closed to vehicles from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Traffic on surrounding streets will experience heavy delays, and the TTC 506 streetcar will divert around the area.

  • Rogers Centre Activity: The New York Yankees are playing the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre in the afternoon, leading to intense pedestrian and vehicular congestion near the waterfront.

2. FIFA World Cup Closures (Waterfront & Stadium Precinct)

Toronto Stadium (BMO Field) is active during the tournament. For this area, a massive "transit-first" policy restricts local access. The following streets are completely closed on match days for up to 10 hours starting 5 hours before kickoff:

  • Lake Shore Boulevard West: Closed in both directions from Bathurst Street to British Columbia Road.

  • Strachan Avenue: Closed from East Liberty Street to Lake Shore Boulevard West.

  • Fleet Street: Fully closed from Angelique Street to Strachan Avenue for a temporary streetcar hub.

3. Planned Highway Construction

  • Highway 427: Multiple alternating lane closures overnight starting at 10:00 p.m. between Burnhamthorpe Road and Finch Avenue.

  • QEW: Three left lanes are continuously closed Toronto-bound between 4th Line and Trafalgar Road from 10:00 p.m. onwards.

4. Continuous Major Construction

  • Queen Street West: Closed entirely between Yonge Street and Bay Street for ongoing Ontario Line construction.
