For Sunday, August 9, 2026, Toronto traffic will be impacted by major festival street closures on the Danforth, local event traffic, and planned overnight provincial highway lane restrictions.

Major Festival Closures

Closed to all vehicular traffic between Broadview Avenue and Jones Avenue for the Taste of the Danforth festival. This closure starts Friday at 10:00 a.m. and stays in place until Monday, August 10 at 3:00 a.m.

Event Traffic & Local Delays

  • Toronto Taco Fest (Fort York): Expect heavy local pedestrian and vehicle congestion around 250 Fort York Boulevard through 9:00 p.m.

  • Jerk Fest Toronto (Centennial Park): Expect localized traffic delays around Centennial Park Road in Etobicoke until 9:30 p.m.

  • RUSH: Fifty Something (Scotiabank Arena): High evening congestion is expected around the downtown core near the arena starting around 7:30 p.m.

Highway Lane Restrictions

  • Highway 401 Eastbound: Three alternating collector lanes closed between Yonge Street and Don Mills Road starting nightly at 10:00 p.m.

  • Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW): Two alternating Fort Erie-bound lanes closed between Highway 427 and Cawthra Road starting at 10:00 p.m
