A Day of Prayer and Reflection at the Chapel (Photos)
On Sunday, the Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Grace Bishop Andriy. His presence and his sermon, which touched the depths of the hearts of all present, inspired and moved everyone.
As is traditional at the end of November, we commemorated one of the most tragic pages in the history of the Ukrainian people — the Holodomor of 1932–1933. The children of the Sunday School, under the guidance of Mrs Natalia, spoke on this very topic. The children know many facts about this irreparable tragedy in Ukraine and share stories from their own families about how they managed to survive during those terrible times. Our dedicated volunteer, Tania Ternovska, held an art class for the Sunday School students. Together they created “Candle of Remembrance” symbols of our honour, love, and respect — feelings we carry throughout our lives and will never forget.
At the end of the Liturgy, a traditional requiem service was held for the souls of all the innocent Ukrainians who perished, and the “Candle of Remembrance” in the children’s hands burned with an undying flame of remembrance.
After to Holodomor commemoration, clergy, altar servers, elders, volunteers and choir gathered for photos to recognise their important role in making the Chapel a special place to worship.
Afterwards, there was a traditional meal with Lenten borsch and rye bread.
May our memory, in these continuing times of trial, burn with the fire of love, support, and unwavering hope for the victory of good over evil.

У неділю Божественна літургія була очолена Преосвятішим Єпископом Андрієм. Його присутність, Його проповідь, що торкалася глибин душі всіх присутніх, надихнула і вразила.
Традиційно наприкінці листопада ми згадували одну із найтрагічніших сторінок в історії Українського народу - Голодомор 1932-1933 років. Саме на цю тему говорили дітлахи в Недільній школі під керівництвом добродійки Наталі. Діти знають багато фактів про цю непоправну трагедію для України та ділилися історіями власних сімей: як їм вдалося вижити в ці страшні часи. Наша послідовна волонтерка Таня Терновська провела арт клас для учнів Недільної школи. Вони разом створили “Свічки Памʼяті”, що є символами нашої шани, любові та поваги, яку ми несемо крізь усе своє життя і про яку не забудемо ніколи.
Наприкінці літургії відбулася традиційна панахида за душами всіх невинно загиблих українців, та “Свічки памʼяті” у руках дітей горіли незгасним вогнем памʼяті.
Після вшанування пам’яті жертв Голодомору духовенство, прислужники вівтаря, старійшини, волонтери та хор зібралися для спільної світлини, щоб відзначити їхню важливу роль у творенні каплиці як особливого місця для богослужіння.
Опісля - обрядовий обід з пісним борщем та житнім хлібом.
Нехай в часи випробувань що тривають, наша памʼять буде горіти вогнем любові, підтримки та незгасної надії на перемогу добра над злом.
Дякуємо кожному, кого ця подія не залишила байдужим.
