Road Closures July 12, 2026
Перекриття доріг у неділю
For July 12, 2026, Toronto drivers should avoid the downtown southwest core and major provincial highways, where a combination of the extended FIFA World Cup security zones and overnight roadwork will cause major traffic disruptions.
Event Road Closures
Fleet Street: Closed between Angelique Street and Strachan Avenue to accommodate temporary transit infrastructure and a streetcar hub.
Fort York Area: Local traffic-only restrictions, as well as closures for the extended FIFA Fan Festival around the Fort York Historic Site and The Bentway.
General Congestion: While primary World Cup match-day closures wrap up after July 2, significant spillover congestion is expected to continue near Exhibition Place and Liberty Village as the tournament infrastructure wraps up.
Highway & Expressway Maintenance
Nightly construction will lead to lane reductions and ramp closures across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Be prepared for:
Highway 401 Eastbound Express: Continuous single-lane closures from Conlins Road to Meadowvale Road.
Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW): Ongoing overnight closures of alternating lanes, Fort Erie-bound between the East Mall (Toronto) and Bronte Road (Oakville).
Highway 427: Nightly lane reductions on the northbound express from Browns Line to Finch Avenue.
Highway 409 Eastbound: Alternating lane closures from Highway 427 to Highway 401.
Before heading out, it is highly recommended to check live updates using the City of Toronto Road Restrictions Map or monitor 416Traffic to see real-time forecasts and congestion levels.
