Pokrova Potluck at the Chapel 2025
On Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the All Saints of the Ukraine Chapel, we held a special Pokrova Potluck, titled “Beneath Her Holy Veil: A Cossack Legacy of Faith, Protection, and Gratitude.”
The Feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God (Pokrova) holds deep significance for Ukrainians. The Blessed Mother is honoured as the heavenly patroness of all who defend their homeland — from the Cossack warriors and the courageous fighters of the UPA, to the modern defenders of Ukraine. This feast, officially observed in Ukraine on October 1, also coincides with Defender's Day and the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks.
In our united prayer, we remembered all those who love and protect Ukraine. Following the Sunday Divine Liturgy, our longstanding parish tradition continued with a communal potluck lunch in the Arbour Room, warmly attended by many parishioners.
Throughout the meal, a background video on Cossack history played, sharing stories in a relaxed setting and reminding everyone once again that from ancient times to the present day, the strongest and most loyal defenders of Ukraine have been the Cossacks — forever worthy of honor, for they stand with truth and with God.
We look forward to future gatherings, united by our shared history, cherished memories, gratitude, and a common vision for the future.

Святковий Потлак на Покрови у Каплиці
У неділю, 5-го жовтня 2025, у Каплиці Всіх святих Землі Української пройшов Потлак присвячений Покрові Пресвятої Богородиці: “Під Її Святим Покровом: Козацька спадщина віри, захисту та вдячності”. Богородиця є Небесною Покровителькою всіх, хто боронить рідну землю: для захисників України від козацьких воїнів, славних УПІвців - до сучасних захисників України. Всі ці свята є офіційними в Україні та відзначаються 1 жовтня.
Тому у спільній молитві ми згадали всіх, хто любить та захищає Україну. Також після Недільної Літургії за незмінної традиції в Arbour Room пройшов спільний обід, на якому були присутні багато наших вірян. Діти мали можливість пройти вікторину про козаків та отримати маленький солодкий комплімент - як доказ того, що знання про козацьку велич і славу робить життя солодшим. Також фоново було представлено відео про козаків, щоб в невимушений спосіб всі присутні вкотре почули про те, що завжди на захисті України, від сивої давнини дотепер є найсильніші, найвідданіші люди - козаки яким слава навіки бо з ними правда і Бог.
Чекаємо на наступні спільні зустрічі, обʼєднані історією, памʼяттю, вдячністю та спільним баченням майбутнього.
