Carol Concert at the Cathedral (Photos)
On Sunday, January 25, 2026, the final carol concert of the year was held in St. Volodymyr's Cathedral. Despite the difficult weather conditions, the concert still took place and gathered numerous parishioners.
The Cathedral Choir, under the direction of conductor Andriy Dmytrovych, performed several Christmas carols. This concert was not just the final event of the Christmas-Jordan cycle, but also an act of Christian solidarity — a voluntary collection of funds for the treatment and rehabilitation of our chorister and reader Zachary Karnoukh.
19-year-old Zachary, originally from Poltava, left peaceful and safe Canada after graduating from school and returned to Ukraine to defend the Motherland in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After completing training, he has been serving in the Azov Regiment for two years. Currently, Zachary is undergoing rehabilitation after his second injury.
Feeling its spiritual and human involvement, the Cathedral Choir decided to support Zachary's mother, Olesya, not only morally, but also materially. After the concert, the choir members organized a voluntary fundraiser to help with Zachary's rehabilitation. The parishioners of the cathedral, who know Zachary well, responded sincerely and generously. In total, about $2,500 was raised, which was completely handed to the soldier's mother.
This support is extremely important not only in a material sense but also in a moral sense. Zachary has already conveyed his sincere gratitude and warm greetings to the entire Cathedral Community.

Концерт Колядок у Катедрі св. Володимира
У неділю, 25 січня 2026 року, в катедрі святого Володимира відбувся заключний у цьому році концерт колядок. Незважаючи на складні погодні умови, концерт все ж таки відбувся та зібрав численних парафіян.
Катедральний Хор під керівництвом диригента Андрія Дмитровича виконав кілька різдвяних колядок. Цей концерт став не просто завершальним заходом різдвяно-йорданського циклу, а й актом християнської солідарності — добровільною збіркою коштів на лікування та реабілітацію нашого хориста і читця Захарія Карноуха.
19-річний Захарій, родом із Полтави, після закінчення школи залишив мирну й безпечну Канаду та повернувся в Україну, щоби стати на захист Батьківщини в лавах Збройних Сил України. Після проходження вишколу він уже два роки несе службу в полку «Азов». Нині Захарій проходить реабілітацію після вже другого поранення.
Відчуваючи свою духовну й людську причетність, Катедральний Хор вирішив підтримати матір Захарія, Олесю, не лише морально, а й матеріально. Після концерту членами хору було організовано добровільну збірку коштів на допомогу в реабілітації Захарія. Парафіяни катедри, які добре знають Захарія, щиро та щедро відгукнулися. Загалом було зібрано близько 2500 доларів, які повністю передано матері воїна.
Ця підтримка є надзвичайно важливою не лише в матеріальному, але й у моральному сенсі. Захарій уже передав свою щиру подяку та теплі вітання всій катедральній спільноті.
