2025 Church Council and Committees
We greet the following individuals who were elected to the 2025 Church Council to lead our parish. This year, we elected a new Church Council President - Franko Diakowsky. Please accept our sincere congratulations!
We extend our deepest thanks to the previous Church Council President, Greg Blysniuk, for his inspired and diligent work over the past 9 years. Please accept our deepest respect and sincere appreciation!
We wish the Church Council a blessed year. May the Lord, our God, guide you in your work!
Inaugural Address of the New President to Members
Christ is Risen!
“A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, for all things are now ready.’”
Next year, our parish will celebrate 100 years since its founding. In that time, this community has been a refuge and safe haven for Ukrainian Orthodox families through times of chaos and upheaval, through times of war: The War of Independence from 1917-1921 (when my grandparents immigrated); The Second World War (when my wife’s grandparents immigrated); the war we find ourselves in now.
With their own hands, with foresight, sacrifice, and determination, those who came before us built what we have now, in the hope and conviction that this parish would play a central role in the lives of their children and their children's children. Our work, essentially, is to prepare the way for those who follow us. To make sure that, as in the parable, “all things are ready.” We are not there yet. We have work to do to make it easier for newcomers, for grandchildren and great-grandchildren of our parishioners to find that same sense of peace, warmth, and love that a home provides.
In the year ahead, we will work to build on work already begun, to solidify fundamental tools and processes, and open pathways to stewardship and succession. We are counting on your support. We ask for your input, your effort, your patience, and your time as we work under the watchful eyes of the Fathers in this little corner of God’s vineyard — to make the next 100 years more fruitful than the last.
Christ is Risen!
Franko Diakowsky.
