EVENT: Spring Market

May 2 & 3 / 2026 | 620 Spadina Ave.

Spring Finds & Artistic Treasures
Art, community, & the legacy of Adele Kereliuk

Our Spring Market, taking place May 2 & 3, 2026, is a beloved seasonal tradition that brings the community together in support of the Ukrainian Museum of Canada – Ontario Branch and St.Volodymyr Institute. This year, the market will also feature a special collection of original sketches, drawings, and paintings by Adele Kereliuk, with all proceeds supporting the Museum.

Adele Kereliuk (1925–2024) was a Ukrainian Canadian artist whose work reflected a lifelong sensitivity to colour, form, and cultural memory. She was known for her detailed miniatures and expressive studies of nature and the human form, often drawing on Ukrainian traditions as a source of inspiration. Those who knew her remember her vibrant personality, alongside her deep creative spirit. She is remembered as both an artist and a cultural bearer – someone who lived with creativity at her core, using her art to reflect beauty, preserve Ukrainian identity, and share a deeply felt vision of her world.

Beyond her art, Adele was a devoted supporter of the Ukrainian Museum of Canada (Ontario Branch), the Ukrainian Women’s Association of Canada, and St. Volodymyr Institute. Through both her creative work and her generosity, she helped sustain the cultural life of her community. Her art continues to give back – extending a legacy of care, creativity, and quiet dedication, one that will continue to live on at the Museum through a thoughtful bequest of her estate.

SATURDAY May 2 10 AM - 5 PM
SUNDAY May 3 12 PM - 5 PM

In addition to Adele’s work, the Spring Market will feature art by a range of artists, along with vintage and contemporary jewellery and accessories, and unique treasures for you and your home. Visitors can also find vyshyvanky for spring, take part in a flower arranging workshop, and enjoy tea, coffee, sweets, and savoury café offerings. It will also be the last chance to view the Kosiv Bazaar exhibition, which closes May 23.
