Please join Ucrainica Research Institute for a presentation that unveils the realities of Ukrainian courage, resilience and humanity through the eyes of a Canadian veteran who volunteers, trains and continues to witness the realities of the frontlines in Ukraine.
Kevin Leach, a Canadian Armed Forces veteran and volunteer in Ukraine, will present Learning Under Fire: How Canadian Training Shapes Ukraine’s Fight for Sovereignty on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 7 pm in the Westminster Room, Old Mill Toronto.
Kevin Leach is a Canadian Armed Forces veteran who brings a rare blend of military expertise, on-the-ground humanitarian experience, and deep knowledge of the war in Ukraine. He served a decade in the Canadian Army, specializing in armoured reconnaissance, then moved to Ukraine and worked with the OSCE, monitoring the conflict in Donbas. Following Russia’s full-scale invasion, Kevin co-founded Project Volya to deliver humanitarian aid and later established the Sabre Training Advisory Group to provide NATO-standard military training to Ukrainian forces, supporting their fight for a decisive and lasting victory.
